Hark, spring ho! The days are getting longer and warmer, the birds are chirping, flowers are budding and will soon be in full bloom. What a season!
Then, you say to yourself: “I love spring cleaning!”
Actually, those four words have never been uttered in the history of mankind, but with the advent of the equinox, maybe it’s time to start thinking about a game plan for getting things in order around your house.
There’s no need to stress, though. When you think about the fine details of what has to get done, the idea of spring cleaning may seem impossible and unfathomable, but once you get down to business it won’t be all that bad. Besides, you’re not all on your own! Give us a call if you need some assistance, and we’ll be happy to help with the things you don’t have time to take care of yourself. We even have deals and coupons you can check out on our site.
And as for the tasks you plan on tackling yourself, use some of these spring cleaning tips we conjured up to make the process go as seamlessly as possible:
Practice Smart Vacuuming
You’re running the vacuum and really getting into the groove of things, when all of a sudden you come upon a bulky piece of furniture that’s in the way of your work. We all know how annoying that feeling is. Many folks avoid such an occurrence by clearing the room they’re about to vacuum of all furniture, but that’s a mistake. To save vacuuming time and efficiency, simply move a piece of furniture that’s blocking an area you’re trying to reach just enough out of the way so you can get the vacuum to where it needs to go. Then put the piece back, and move on.
Don’t Forget the Little Things
There’s a bunch of little stuff here and there throughout your house that usually gets missed. Make sure to give those areas the attention they deserve during your spring cleaning regimen. From ceiling fans and light fixtures, to refrigerator coils, upholstery and windowsills, there should be plenty of (usually forgotten about) nooks and crannies to which you can devote some time.
Use Quality Tools
Sure, they might cost a few extra dollars right now, but they’ll be more effective (and last longer) than cheaper alternatives. For example, renting a carpet cleaner will cost you about $25 for the day, and the results will be worth every penny. Also, a lamb’s wool mop will cost you about $20, and it’ll make your floors gleam like you’ve never seen before.
Get some help
You don’t have to go it alone. Make spring cleaning a family affair! Put all hands on deck to get things done faster, and also, hire a professional cleaning service to help with the rest. With all that help, spring cleaning will be over before you even start, it’ll feel like!
This is just the beginning, but there are many other resources available online to help you make cleaning—whether for the spring, or any other time—go as painlessly as possible. For example, check out our FAQ page, which is full of tips and tricks for better cleaning practices.
Good luck with spring cleaning, and we hope to help you out!
