“Oh, Christmas tree, oh Christmas tree, how lovely are thy branches.”
Dusty could hear singing coming from the living room. He scurried on over there and looked up. What he saw was…a massive tree inside the house! And it was even lit up! He could hardly believe his eyes. The people that Dusty had grown to love but still avoid were all holding hands, surrounding the tree, and singing Christmas carols. Even quite beautifully, he added. Dusty longed to join in and feel as though he had a family again, but he couldn’t do it. It was too risky. So, he decided to build his own Christmas tree.

Dusty was almost finished building his Christmas tree made of dust. Maybe it doesn’t light up, but it’s still beautiful, he thought. Just then, a gust of wind blew in and swept Dusty’s dusty Christmas tree away forever. Dusty, feeling hopeless, began to cry. He looked up when someone asked what’s wrong. It was a girl dust bunny, and she was the most beautiful thing he’d ever seen. She said, “My name’s Fluffy” and smiled at him.
